Care + Maintenance
We sell professional grade cleaners which have stronger degreasers ensuring a cleaner floor than residential cleaners found in grocery or hardware stores. Stop by our location at 831 Fesslers Parkway, Nashville, TN to purchase Pallmann or Bona mop kits. In most cases, a damp mop will do the trick, don’t saturate your wood flooring!
Use caution with As Seen On TV or products you may see on social media. They can make your floors appear cloudy or erode finishes. Some cleaning products such as Orange Glo or Pinesol may cause problems when trying to refinish your floors.

Frequently asked questions
Can you help me find a contractor?
Yes – contact us! We’ll need a few details about your project such as location and square footage to best provide you with a recommendation.
Do you sell low VOC products?
Do you stock wooden floor vents?
How do I protect my floors during construction?
FortiBoard is essentially a tough non-corrugated cardboard that can be rolled out over your floors.
Floorotex is a thinner material and thus can be rolled out over flooring, staircases and even used to protect counter tops, etc..
Rosin paper can help protect floors against paint splatter or other minor flaws but does not hold up well against scratches and dents. Caution should be used as rosin paper can sometimes cause discoloration to floors.
It is not advised to cover your floors before they are completely cured. This may slow or stop the curing process causing issues when removed.
Can my floors be refinished?
There are several factors to this question. How many times has the floor previously been sanded? If the floor is engineered, how thick is the wear layer? If you are unsure, we recommend asking a professional to sand a small section in a low traffic area like a closet or under a bed to see how the floors react. If possible, remove a strip of wood from a doorway or closet to further investigate how much of a wear layer your floors have left. Let us know if you need a contractor referral.
Can my floors be refinished without making a mess?
Dust containment equipment has come a long way, and is quickly becoming the norm for contractors. If properly used, this equipment greatly decreases the amount of dust that is created by refinishing, however it does not completely eliminate the mess. Sectioning off rooms may also help to cut down on the amount of dust created on a project. It’s still a messy process, but worth it in our opinion!
I’m building a new house — when should I plan to order my flooring?
The heat or air conditioning should be operational for at least two weeks before installation. This ensures a stable environment, installing floors later in the process also protects them from wear and tear caused by other trades like painters, trim carpenters and electricians.
If you’ve chosen sand and finish flooring, this typically installs earlier than pre-finished material. Since they will be sanded and finished at the end of the process, you can worry less about scratches and paint splatter.
Pre-finished options should go down as late as possible, and be covered with a floor protectant material to ensure the best outcome.
Do you source stair parts?
Yes — we stock solid treads in common lengths and species, and can special order treads, too! We stock white MDF riser material and stain grade risers, and can special order less common species.
