Jeffco Flooring double checks the moisture content on every solid wood flooring pallet received. This is our way of double checking our manufacturers. We have been known to refuse entire truckloads of product because moisture content was above our acceptable range. This gives our customers confidence that they will not receive wet or green wood for their projects.

In 1999, Because Nashville had no custom showroom, Jeff Johnson, born and raised in Nashville, with years of previous wood floor contracting experience, personally designed and built Jeffco's nationally recognized custom showroom which to this day still rotates on the National Wood Flooring Association's home page. This site is the most frequently visited wood flooring website in the nation. This in itself is an exclamation point to Jeffco's commitment and passion for wood flooring. Jeffco's staff has well over 100 years of wood flooring sales and previous floor contracting experience. This saves our customers lots of time and aggravation. Wood specie identification usually occurs in a snap, and we may use a chemical test for confirmation purposes. We daily steer our customers with extensive technical advice, which ultimately determines the performance of wood flooring. Most people do not know when to and when not to acclimate solid wood flooring. Technical literature available is merely a guideline, but can and has often created failures. The Jeffco staff knows wood inside and out, and about its proper application. When should a permanently cupped floor be sanded for correction?

When can wintertime acclimation cause a problem? Why do solid wood floors squeak in the wintertime over "I" joists on 19.2" centers? Jeffco has the answers!

Jeffco Flooring also provides the unique service of preparing samples of your preferred flooring specie with your chosen stain color and finish sheen. (We have found this to be most helpful for consumers choosing complementing home finishes). And finding the specie in our warehouse is not a problem, because we inventory hundreds of thousands of square feet of unfinished and pre-finished flooring on a regular basis in our 36,000 square foot building. Jeffco has received 75,000 square feet of flooring in a single morning. Jobsite delivery is no problem either. With eight company-owned trucks available, most of which are four wheel drive, WE DELIVER! Jeffco offers a full service repair shop to keep those floor machines going, also a complete line of floor machine rentals, from the Atomic Dust Containment trailer to the Lagler belt sander, to the Delmhorst moisture meter. There’s no wonder Jeffco is the favorite stop for most of Middle Tennessee's wood flooring contractors. It is indeed all about the service!

At Jeffco, focus on profits is not our primary goal. Though important, we know if we do our job properly, and take care of "number one" our customer, the money will take care of itself. So for years, we have given back generously to not only our community, but others in need. After the horrific events of Katrina, Jeffco sent an enormous check to the American Red Cross for relief efforts. Jeffco has donated thousands of feet of flooring to the St. Jude Children's Hospital Dream Home Giveaway in Westhaven. We participate annually with the Ronald McDonald House Calling for Kids, contribute annually to McNeilly Center for Children, and have hosted fishing events for the kids at the Charles Davis Foundation, Cottage Cove, and McNeilly Center.
